World Glaucoma Week Update from the IAPB

 

News from the IAPB – 12-18 March 2017 was World Glaucoma Week (WGW); a global initiative to raise awareness of glaucoma, the second leading cause of blindness.

About 50% of all glaucoma cases are undiagnosed in developed countries; this figure is as high as 90% in the developing parts of the world. It is estimated that the number of people with glaucoma will increase to 79.6 million by 2020.
