Dr. Juan Vazquez, ALDOO Regional Representative

Dr. Vazquez received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Universidad Interamericana in Bayamon, Puerto Rico in 1989. Since then, he has been in private practice at Le Petit Vision Center in Caguas, Puerto Rico.

Dr. Vazquez performs pediatric and adult evaluations, including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. He also specializes in contact lens fitting and ocular prosthetics.

Since 2011 and currently, Dr. Vazquez is the Dean for the ALDOO education program. He has also served on the executive board of the Colegio de Optometras de Puerto Rico since 2003. Dr. Vazquez has held multiple leadership positions over the years including serving on the WCO Board of Directors and and as President of the  Asociacion Latinoamericana de Optometria y Optica (ALDOO) from 2008 – 2011.

Dr. Vazquez is an accomplished author, international speaker and presenter. He is also a member of Volunteer in Optometric Service to Humanity (VOSH) and has served as a volunteer in Puerto Rico, Chile, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
