Dr. Remi Ninkpe, AFCO Regional Representative

Dr. Remi Ninkpe received his Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree in 2007 from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (Ghana). After working as the regional optometrist with the Ghana Health Service, Greater Accra Regional Hospital for five years, Dr. Ninkpe then joined the Ghana Police Service to establish the optometry unit within the police force, catering for over 35,000 personnel. He currently works as a Senior Optometrist and head of unit at the Ghana Police Hospital, Accra.

Dr. Ninkpe has served as President of the Ghana Optometric Association (GOA) since 2014. Prior to this role, he served as GOA Secretary General for three years. Dr. Ninkpe is also a member of the ALLIED Health Professions Council of Ghana. 

Having previously served as the Treasurer General for the African Council of Optometry (AFCO), Dr. Ninkpe is now AFCO Secretary General and serves on WCO’s Board of Directors as a Regional Representative for AFCO.
