Mr. Younis Doudin, EMCO Regional Representative

Mr. Doudin is the President of Eastern Mediterranean Council of Optometry (EMCO) elected in September, 2017. As part of this role, Mr. Doudin promotes and advocates for optometric best practices across the region, recommends new advances in optometry and creates plans to be implemented throughout the coming 3 years with within EMCO.

Mr. Doudin co-founded the General Association of Optometry in Jordan and served as its first elected president in 2008. Afterwards, he was elected twice to serve as a president for the Association in 2010 and 2014.

Mr. Doudin has been an active member of the optometric community in Jordan and across the region, participating in different local and regional conferences. Additionally, he continuously holds events, lead sessions, and conducts community volunteer work within the field. Mr. Doudin is currently a member of different non-profit organizations and initiatives, such as the National Committee for White Cane, the Cultural Forum for the Blind, and Al-Ataa’ Sports Club for the Blind (where he is serving as a Vice President and a member).

Additionally, Mr. Doudin is the Founder and General Manager of Optima Reflection Vision Company based in Amman, with operations and partners in Dubai. He is also the owner and founder of two business ventures: Al Sa’adeh Optical Centre since 1987 and Doudin Pharmacy since 1981 in Jordan. Lastly, Mr. Doudin is a partner at Arab Vision Centre since 2008 in Amman.

Mr. Doudin earned his Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy from Complutense University of Madrid (Madrid – Spain) in 1975, then earned a Higher Diploma in Optometry from University of Santiago de Compostela (Santiago – Spain) in 1977. Most recently, he concluded a Diploma in “Low Vision for Clinical Optometrists” from the German Jordan University Vision Training Centre in 2016.

Mr. Doudin currently serves as an EMCO Regional Representative on the Board of Directors.
