Optometry Giving Sight (OGS) has announced the selection of its 2025 grant program recipients. This year, 24 grants totaling almost $1 million USD have been awarded to 21 organizations for projects that will help eradicate uncorrected refractive error globally. One such grant was awarded to the World Council of Optometry (WCO) to support and expand the Optometry Program in Advocacy and Leadership (OPAL), WCO’s annual advocacy course that equips optometrists with the skills to lead sustainable vision care advocacy programs in their home countries.
With the generous support of OGS, this year’s OPAL cycle introduces a new post-graduate track for alumni, offering advanced seminars and mentorship to deepen the impact of the program.
