Dr. Man Pan (Bruce) Chin,
Geographic Representative for Asia Pacific
Dr. Chin Man Pan (Bruce) is an optometrist and academic, holding a BSc (Hons) in Optometry (2011) and a PhD in Vision Science (2017) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).
He serves as a Visiting Clinical Associate and Instructor at PolyU, supervising student optometrists and teaching, and as a Visiting Associate Professor at Shantou University Medical College. Committed to advancing his profession, Dr. Chin is President of the Hong Kong Society of Professional Optometrists and was honored with a 2024 Outstanding Youth Alumni award from PolyU.
As a practicing optometrist, he co-owns a center providing comprehensive eye care, including myopia control, glaucoma checks, and dry eye treatment. His research focuses on myopia mechanisms, control strategies like Ortho-K lenses, binocular vision, and retinal electrophysiology. Internationally, he is a member of the World Council of Optometry’s (WCO) LRS Committee and was newly elected as the WCO’s Asia-Pacific Geographic Representative.
