Dr.Rajeev Prasad

Dr. Rajeev Prasad, Geographic Representative for Asia Pacific

Dr. Rajeev Prasad is a senior clinical Optometrist currently based in Delhi NCR – India, apart from his Specialty practices in Bihar, Jharkhand. He has completed Bachelor’s and Master’s in Optometry and also a Low Vision fellow from LV Prasad eye Institute, Hyderabad, 2002 and was awarded scholarship by Tata’s group. He has also done Bachelor’s in Homeopathy (BHMS) as well.

Dr. Prasad was also trained in Japan and the United States in eye screening for special population and further served for 5 years as Asia Pacific Manager for healthy Athletes Initiative at Special Olympics International, USA. He has presented as invited speaker to several national and international forums of Optometry and also was key person to liaison between Lions Clubs International Foundation and Special Olympics International, USA, for implementation of the Special Olympics Lions Clubs International Foundation Opening Eyes program.

Dr. Prasad was the person to initiate formation of Bihar and Jharkhand Optometry Association. He has also served as Organizing Chairman for the national conference AIOC 2018, held at Constitution Club of India, New Delhi. Additionally, Dr. Prasad served as Organizing Secretary of India’s first virtual International Conference, IOA 2020 (38th All India Optometry Conference) 4-6 December, 2020. He was also Congress Secretary to Asia Pacific Optometry Congress 2023.

Dr. Prasad received the honor of most prestigious “OPTOMETRIST OF THE YEAR” award in both 2018 and 2020. He has conducted several national and international workshops on Low Vision and Myopia Management, along with specialty Optometric practice, including several in the Asia Pacific region. He is also Visiting Faculty at Chandigarh University and CT University, Ludhiana, Punjab for Master’s students.

Currently, Dr. Prasad is Secretary General of Indian Optometry Association and Vice President of Asia Pacific Council of Optometry. He is also serving on the World Council of Optometry Board of Directors and is member of Public Health Committee. He is passionate about Low Vision and Neuro Optometric Rehabilitation.
