Vision for a Cause: Strengthening Child Eye Health through Collaboration and Compassion

The Vision for a Cause (VFC) program represents a powerful initiative by Optometry Confederation of India (OCI) in collaboration with Aloka Vision Foundation, ZEISS, driven by a shared commitment in achieving universal eye health. This program aimed to identify and address vision impairment among schoolchildren, a key factor influencing learning outcomes, confidence, and quality of life. Recognizing that vision plays a crucial role in a child’s learning journey, Vision for a Cause was launched to ensure that no child’s potential is limited by an uncorrected vision problem. On 17th September 2025, OCI along with Aloka Vision Foundation held a meeting reflecting the project’s journey and impact.

The Vision for a Cause initiative stands as a testament to what collective effort can achieve when guided by compassion, expertise, and purpose. With over 58,000 young lives impacted, the program reinforces a simple yet powerful belief that every child has the right to see clearly and dream freely. As OCI, Aloka Vision Foundation ZEISS continue their journey, VFC serves as a model for how academic institutions, corporations, and communities can come together to advance global eye health and inclusive education: one child at a time.
